Woolrich Waterproof Breathable Parka

It has been a very wet week, and it got me thinking about the new Woolrich Breathable Parka.  You by now know how much we think of the Woolrich Elite Series of clothing.  They are well constructed, a great value, and are highly functional. Recently we tested their parka.  I took this parka to Ukraine with me two weeks ago because our host told us we would probably need a good raincoat.  Not only did it serve to keep me dry, but it was a great...

Range Report: SM-1 Factory Barrel

Posted by in Shotgun, Tactical | 1 comment

I mentioned the other day that I was having a little difficulty because of a mistake I had made in modifying the gas port on a Remington 1100.  I had to replace the customer’s barrel with a factory new 21″ barrel that came with two choke tubes, a wrench and rifle sights. Yesterday I took it to the range for function testing and evaluation.  It was a great expereince.  It gobbled up every bit of ammo I threw in it and forcefully...

Badger Grips

On the MCC Ruger SP101 Conversion we used a set of Badger Custom Grips.  It was the first time that we had ever shot them.  The grips were awesome.  They are beautifully made.  So much so that it was hard to tell if they were one piece or in fact two piece construction. We have been waiting for a while to be able to announce the MCC Custom SP 101 package, and we are finally ready to start filling orders.  As with all of our most popular packages this one was customer driven.  We were asked to take a stock SP 101 and turn it into a custom CCW piece that is also a beautiful piece to add to any collection. We started out with an SP 101 DAO in .357 Magnum.  To be sure this has to be one of the best platforms...

Precision Rifle

While we are certainly not known for precision rifle work, from time to time we get the opportunity to do a little.  In face, one of our first customers was a Air Marshall who was getting ready to go to a rifle class. The rifle pictured above is one that is set up for another precision rifle class.  It is a Remington 700 in 308 that has several cool things added to it. The scope is a SWFA 10×42 with Mil-Dots, with side focus.  The scope...

Situational Awareness

We had an officer shot this week in Nashville who remains in the hospital.  By all accounts he was a good guy trying his best to do a good job.  While on a routine traffic stop, he was shot in the worst place; the side of his vest.  I am sure there will be many reports filed and lessons learned, but I want to remind all of our LEO’s to work extra hard this week on situational awareness. Many of you are familiar with the color code...
