The Hardest Pistol Shot

Posted by in Tactical, Training | 1 comment

The hardest shot to make with a pistol is the one you have to make under pressure.  Most of us shoot for fun, but carry for serious purposes.  It’s not unusual to see guys at the range shooting cans, clays or other targets as they laugh with their friends.  Shooting, by its very nature, is fun. The problem comes in that we never practice like we mean it.  How many people have told me what a great shot they are until we went to an IDPA...

Ruger LCP

If you haven’t looked at the Ruger LCP for CCW, you are missing a great pistol.  Our retail arm, Mossy Creek Arms,  has been selling the LCP’s as fast as we can get them in.  In fact, I met a customer at the shop this weekend to complete the sale of a used Glock 19.  But when he saw the LCP he quickly changed his mind. Obviously for off duty carry the main goal is to have a firearm...

I have been around lasers for many years now as an LEO and gunsmith.  I have used them personally, and feel like they give you a distinct advantage in certain situations.  I was however, new to the green lasers put out by Viridian.  They are simply awesome.  The green laser is incredibly easy to see in day or night conditions. Jim at Mossy Creek Arms has several of these in stock including the C5L which is an incredible laser light combo...

No doubt all of you have rejoiced with the cool weather coming, because it just makes it easier to get you regular guns back out and put the little ones away.  I believe Clint Smith said that guns should be comforting, not comfortable, but that is hard to do when it is 90+ degrees outside. Don’t forget that even though you have more options you should still be careful about printing.  This is best accomplished with good outer garments and...
