You may not have heard of Inforce Flashlights, but they are gaining a lot of momentum in the tactical community. Their lights are solid platforms that offer some pretty cool features. I recently received a Multi-function light that has 4 different settings; strobe, beacon, momentary and constant.
With 225 lumens, this light is for real. The thing that I like the best is the strobe function. This is absolutely wicked! I had my wife apply it towards me in a darkened room the other night and it is completely disorienting.
These lights are submersible to around 60 feet, they come with a hard case and batteries provided, and they have a removable clip for MOLLE attachment.
There are several other versions including a multi-color light and a simple handheld. Check them out at here for more information.
A truly intriguing product. I like the idea of a flashlight that can be quickly mounted as a rail light on an assault rifle. I have not had it in hand, so I can’t speak from experience, but I wonder how confusing the controls are under pressure (specifically the turn knob left/right). I also wonder how much abuse the mounting bracket will take before the flashlight breaks away. Lastly, the belt clip looks a little flimsy.
If you could weigh in on these concerns it would be great.
However, there is no denying the uber-cool factor of the Inforce Color LE/MP which will strobe white, blue, red. I think it would be a good identifying marker for Law Enforcement tactical team situations, as well as, a great disorienter for those on the other end.
I can also see the Inforce Color 200 as a great hunting light. The green light for getting in and out of the woods in the early morning and late evening, and the blue light for following a late night blood trail. You can also use the red light to mess with your hunting buddies, just make sure their weapons are not loaded at the time.
Chris,
I don’t think you would want to have to manipulate the controls as you go. Set it in a predetermined setting and run with it. Strobe would be great for defense. If you need a constant beam, you can then change it. Belt clip is actually pretty solid. I haven’t shot it on the rifle itself, but I like the quick mount. Looks pretty solid.
You are right on the money with your comments about the color 200. It is perfect for hunters. Lets you do so much.
