I had a fun experience with taking the baseplate off my H&K mag one night– I had forgotten to remove the bullets (14 rounds of 9mm). Needless to say, there was a lot of stored energy in that spring, and I spent a good 10 minutes searching for my follower!
Oh yes. I should have mentioned that. Just as a general rule, keep all ammo away from any gun workspace. Unload away from the area you clean and work on your guns. It will just help you minimize the risk of an Accidental Discharge (AD). Remember everyone has either had an AD or is a candidate.

I just wanted to let you know this video helped me tremendously. I have never attempted to add a Pearce +1 extension. I added 5 extensions to 5 magazines for my Glock 36. No joke, I had this done in 60 seconds. I used a small screwdriver, pushed straight down, then pulled back using my thumb to cover the spring. Of course I used a vice too. Thanks for the help.
Great! Thank you for the feedback. It is funny how many things can be simple if someone will just show us.

I would have never been able to install this extension without watching this video… The guy at my local gun shop offered to install it for free, but would not divulge the way it is done. Knowledge really is power! Installed mine flawlessly in seconds exactly as shown in the video. It is also worth noting that you shouldnt worry if the tool you use scratches up the button that is depressed into the base. The button part is replaced with a new one that comes with the extension. Thank you so much!
Glad you found it helpful. I think it is hilarious that your friend wouldn’t show you the way to do this. I mean its not like this is the secrets of the Jedi or something. If he was going to do it free, it shouldn’t have mattered.

Is there a decent way to do this without a vice? I don’t know at the current time where I can find one to use.
There are two options that don’t require a vise. I simply use one because I have it. You can use index finger and thumb to press in on the bottom of the mag if your hands are strong enough. If that doesn’t work, place the mag on a table with the base pad hanging of the edge by a 1/2″ or so. Use your palm to press the bottom 1/4 of the mag and follow the rest as usual.

I purchased a pearce mag ext and could not wait to get it on my Glock 26. After 15-20 min of failed attempts to install it, i figured there must be a simple to it. Found your video with a Google Search and then put it in my vice and installed it in seconds!! Thanks so much for the how to video.
Great. I am glad you found the video. It’s nice when something frustrating can be made simple.

Thanks for the video. Without it I would never figured it out. Shame the manufacturer can’t enclose any instructions with their product packaging. Gene
Yeah it is interesting that they would ship that out with nothing accompanying it. The first time I tried to do it, I essentially tore off one of the indentations on my mag. Sweet feeling. Glad it helped you.

I had about given up on the process and was about to throw the extension in the garbage. I found your video after googling Glock extension installation, and I got it instantly. Your da man!!
Thank you!!
Larry, Thanks for the comment. Glad you got it on. I hope you will find the MCC community full of stuff you can use.

Thank you again for the response. I’ve been in Nashville a bit the last few months…Should have purchased my Glock from you when I was there.
I’m deciding as to whether I want a modified 17 or 19 mag, with sleeve, for my 26.
Your insite would be appreciated.
If you are talking about using a 17 or 19 mag for the 26, I would go with the 19. The 17 makes it full size again diminishing the CCW qualities for which you chose that gun.

I think you’re right. Thanks again.
Just wanted to say thanks so much for the informative video! It really helped me out a lot. For me, I used a small philips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers ro apply gentle pressure to the magazine in lieu of a vice. Worked like a champ!
Very cool. Glad it worked out for you.
