Congratulations to F. Gonzalez who was the recipient of the first ever MCC free work giveaway. He has received a free Taurus Judge Trigger Job.
We will continue to giveaway free work as time permits and our interest in a particular item pops up. The way it works is that the first person to contact us about it and send the gun wins. We provide the work, you provide shipping and pay for any parts.
We will be coming up with something again soon so stay tuned to the Free section of the blog.
Jeff from Mossy Creek is a class act. We exchanged several emails and finally a few phone calls regarding the trigger work. He answered all my questions and made me feel extremely comfortable about the work he would do. The free trigger job was completely unexpected and happened only because the initial candidate backed out and Jeff honored his word by offering the free trigger job to me despite already having my money in hand! His communication during the process was top notch. In fact, despite being in the middle of a natural disaster (flooding), he called me just to let me know that my firearm was safe. Wow…just wow.
As for the trigger job, it’s a thing of beauty. The original pull was extremely heavy and somewhat ratchety. Jeff not only lightened the pull but smoothed it out significantly. He also polished the face for a very nice overall feel. My shooting buddies are super impressed by the new feel and all commented that they can’t believe it’s a Taurus. In my opinion, a Mossy Creek trigger job is a must-have for a Judge. It turned a pretty cool gun into the perfect carry gun, especially for travel in the back woods. I finally got to shoot it post-trigger-job this weekend. It feels wonderful and is much easier to shoot accurately. I look forward to sending future firearms to Mossy Creek.
Thanks Francisco. I am really glad you liked the trigger job, and I appreciate you allowing us to have your gun in our care. We are so grateful for our customers, and we do try to take care of them. Hope we get to do something else for you soon.
I work with Fran and got to shoot his Judge a couple weeks ago. As a joke we were shooting clay with it, and I actually hit one. On a more serious note it feels like an awesome gun for the back country. We had an IDPA style target setup at about 8 yds, and I emptied 5 shots of buck at the target as fast as I could pull the trigger. Every pellet hit the target. The spread from the bird shot would be awesome for snakes.
I never shot it pre trigger job, but I did handle it. The pull was very heavy, and I thought it felt gritty.
Very cool. I glad you guys are having a good time with it. They continue to be one of the most sought after revolvers at this time. When you get yours, send it up here for a trigger job.
How much for a trigger job on my Judge Public Defender
David,
It would cost $100 to adjust springs, smooth the action and polish the trigger face.
