Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet up with Gilbert Perez to do a little shooting. Gilbert is a USPSA competitor who has one the fastest draws around. We were standing at 12 yards shooting 8″ plates on a rack. The drill was to draw and fire one shot on a plate as fast as possible. My best time (actually hitting the plate) was 1.39 seconds. Gilbert consistently was around .80 which included an accurate shot. Check out this video and notice the draw and then the mag changes.
